POPPY SEED MUFFINS Inspired By: Traditional Recipe
Ingredients:
¾ cup granulated sugar ¼ cup softened butter 1 tsp PureSpice ® orange peel granules 2 eggs 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour 2 ½ tsp baking powder ½ tsp PureSpice ® salt ¼ tsp PureSpice ® ground nutmeg 1 cup milk ½ cup chopped walnuts 5 Tbsp PureSpice ® poppy seeds
1.Cream sugar, butter and orange peel. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. 2.Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. 3.Fold in nuts and poppy seeds. 4.Spoon batter into greased muffin tins until ¾ full. Bake a 400 degrees for about 20 minutes.
Makes 16 large muffins.
